Human Capital Development is certified to provide MBTI assessments, perform assessment debriefs, individual training and team workshops related to this widely adopted psychological preference tool.
The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.
Since you’re already here, we will not go into great detail of the MBTI system and history on this page. However, you can be confident in the fact that the overwhelming majority of the worlds largest organization use MBTI. In fact, many of Canada’s own government agencies use MBTI as an integral component of their leadership development and talent management programs.
As with all psychometric tools, we believe that the real value of MBTI is it’s ability to work as a conversation starter for critical personal and professional development. There are many individuals who are suspicious of psychometrics in the workplace. The concern we hear most is that “negative results” could be used to hold people back from being hired, getting promotions or otherwise missing out on opportunities within their organization. The good news is that this wrongful use of MBTI is extremely rare. Unlike an IQ test, the MBTI is a preference tool which means the individual often has the ability to modify their behaviors in a variety of ways. The MBTI does not cause people to change, instead it maps preferences which allows the participant to think more critically about why and when they exhibit these preferences. In this case, the MBTI is a fantastic tool for improving self awareness and improving one’s own Emotional Intelligence.
If you have considered getting your own MBTI assessment or having assessments done for a team, Human Capital Development can help you.
